The Hall and the Church of San Nicolò
In the XVIII century the assembly of Treviso invited the Domenicans to establish themselves in town with the aim of helping the cultural development of the town. One of the friars, Nicolò Bocassino, was elected as the Pope of Rome in 1303 and sent his community the sum of 70.000 golden "Fiorini" for the construction of S. Nicolò Church. Inside the Hall of the community, the series of the 40 domenican monks paited by Tommaso da Modena is an important page of medieval art in the town.

The Signori Square Palazzo del 300
It is the Square where in 1207 the "Domus Lapidea comunis" The stone House of the assembly- was built. It was the site of the General assembly. A monumental staircase leads to the Hall of the 300s, one of the biggest in the public medieval palaces. It is decorated inside by Paolo Veroneses pupils. |
The Buranelli district
Picturesque and live corner in Treviso. Built in the XVI century for the Community of the fishermen coming from the island of Burano.

San Francesco Church
Built in 1270 the church was soon chosen as the Pantheon of the most important families. The architecture of the Temple very austere- reflects the soul of the community. The tombs of Francesco Petrarca and Pietro Alighieri are kept inside.

The Cathedral
Imposing monument rebuilt in 1760 on a plane by Giordano Riccati. It occupies the area where the oldest Church of the town existed. Important works by Pordenone, Tiziano Vecellio and Paris Bordon are kept inside. |

Antonio Canova House
Antonio Canova was born here in 1757. The house guests works, documents, objects which belonged to the artist. Moreover all the marbles found after his death in his studio in Rome are collected here.

La gypsoteca
Building built between 1831 and 1836 by Giovanni Battista Sartori Canova, the sculptors brother who collected here all the models in chalk and the original studies. It is possible to admire here chalk works, marble statues, wax models and many paintings representing mytological figures.

Canovas Temple
It presents the elements of the Greek and Roman style. It was planned by Canova and completed after hi death in 1830; the tomb of the artist is inside.
